020-2021 Principal Message
Hello MPE Families

I want to wish you all the best during this difficult time. As we end the year 2020, I want to send you my well thoughts and wishes. I hope you and the students of MPE are staying safe and healthy. Our district will continue to have online learning for the remainder of the year. Please remember to pick up any items that your child needs at MPE on Tuesday from 12-3. If those times or days do not work for you, please email me for an appointment.

We will have more supplies and materials for your child for the 2nd semester. Please make sure to send someone on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, from 12:00-3:00 p.m. to pick up these items. They will be necessary for 2nd semester learning. ALL STUDENTS need to have these items picked up.

Our office will be closed on Monday and Fridays until further notice. We are taking all precautions to make sure we can serve our community and also keep all employees safe in doing so.

Families I would like to invite you to join us on Tuesday Together for students which will happen weekly with the school psychologist and the principal. I have the flyer posted at the bottom of this message and also on the home page.

This year our 3rd through 5th grade students will be taking the Smarter Balanced Assessment online. This is our annual state test. Please have your child participate in school every day as this is key for their success this year. Our testing will take place in May. Our teachers have been working hard in providing our students the information they need to prepare for the test and their learning. Your support is needed and greatly appreciated.

My heart goes out to all our students and families as I miss you all tremendously. I am hoping that through our events of connecting with our students that it gives them some type of connectedness to MPE. I am so thankful for a wonderful PTA that thinks out of the box to provide support to our students. Please make sure your child participates in the activities that are created for them. All teachers receive flyer information and it is posted on classroom platforms. We also post updated information on our websites.

Your child should be busy on their learning platforms as we purchased two reading programs and it is important that they log in during asynchronous time. We have many different platforms of support in reading, math, science, PE and other areas. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or myself for any questions, concerns or support. We are happy you are a part of our MPE family.

Here's to 2021, I am looking forward to working together to keep our students healthy, mindful, and engaged during this difficult time. Please continue to provide support to your child and reach out to the school for any support as well. Let's make this a great year for our students and keep them healthy and learning.
Mrs. Andujo, Principal
